The Racially Ambiguous Cookie

The black and white cookie is sort of a staple goody for New Yorkers. It's a cakey cookie with vanilla icing on one half and chocolate icing on the other divided prominently by the abrupt transition from one to the other. Hence, black and white. I'm a big fan, and I buy them whenever I find them, usually in some knock-off "New York" style deli. Now Whole Foods sells them, and though I was terrified they would be the organic, gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free variety, turns out they're pretty decadent.
But these cookies beg the question, are black and white segregated or integrated? One could argue that they're divided, or one could argue that they're living in harmony on the same baked good. I'm never quite sure whether I should celebrate or admonish the fact that I am enjoying these wonderful treats. Does it make me a good person or a racist?
