Contrary to my claims, I left the house yesterday and went for a run. There, on the side of a the road, was a bird, clearly injured, not able to fly. Another one. I'm really scared.
This time, instead of stomping on it, I picked it up and moved it so it wouldn't be hit by a car. After my run, I went back with a shoebox to save it, and it was gone. I can only hope I have redeemed myself and the bird flew away, safe and unhurt.
